@Daniel, Change the "bats.png" image to anything you like to get the desired effects. Even you can change the amount of bats etc.
$(document).ready(function() {
$.fn.halloweenBats({
image: Ossn.site_url + 'components/Halloween/vendors/bats.png', // Path to the image.
zIndex: 10000, // The z-index you need.
amount: 30, // Bat amount.
width: 35, // Image width.
height: 20, // Animation frame height.
frames: 4, // Amount of animation frames.
speed: 10, // Higher value = faster.
flickering: 15, // Higher value = slower.
target: 'body' // Target element

Daniel, I can only report what I was seeing. I will try it again and see if it does the same thing.... only at halloween as I was told by a site guest that it was annoying. :)

James, I am not experiencing your problem, my Bats Component is working perfectly and it's not effecting anything on my site. I don't know if anyother user can report your experience with the bats component, but i just love it, can someone do a snow fall component for Christmas? or a Christmas Theme? That would be awesome! :D

Alex, this has a bug, besides bats.. lol. I have found that it was causing my user graph in the dashboard to not work and a constant spinning icon in the ossn update box. As soon as I disabled the component, everything worked again instantly. And yes, I even flushed the cache prior to disabling the component to see if it was something stored in cache. Otherwise, I liked the bats.
