JBS Comment Control is an OSSN component that gives users more control over discussions on their own posts.

Post authors can disable or re-enable comments at any time. Existing comments remain visible, while the comment field is removed and new comments are blocked server-side.

Administrators can configure who is allowed to intervene:

• Post author only
• Post author + administrators
• Post author + administrators + moderators

The component also protects against comments submitted outside the normal user interface, including direct requests, AJAX calls, integrations and Fediverse bridges that use OSSN’s comment system.

This means that when comments are disabled, they are genuinely disabled — not just hidden in the interface.
