How do I set the sidebar to "always open" in theme Flexi?

I'd like the sidebar to always default as open in theme Flexi. I imagine this is CSS, but I couldn't get it to work 100%. I did increase the px width of the closed sidebar, and it worked, except all the menu items were darkened out until I clicked the open menu icon. Strange! Help please. :)
