Component plugin development

I'm looking for detailed documentation on making my own components. I cant get any content to show in the plugin configuration after i enable it. Anyone have any detailed docs or links to help.

Make sure to disable cache while you are checking, and post the component source on Github (share the URL of Github).

Thanks fo enter image description here r the replay. I created my plugin to test but I'm just getting a title in the configure drop down and no content.
