How to install the social network to your web server

Daniel Cilley Posted in Technical Support 7 years ago

I uploaded the zip file to my web server. I extracted the files into one folder, which is NOT under www or public_html. Now what?

*Update: I realized I had made an error. Now, I have moved the first folder under public_html...and now I am creating a new, special folder NOT under www or public_html.

Ok, now, I accessed the wizard by typing my site name, slash (the name of the OSSN folder that is under public_html).

So, now I am on the wizard page where it asks for the database info, and I am having trouble, because I do not know what certain things mean.

What do I put for "database host"?

How am I sure that my server can read and write to the special folder which is outside of the document root? Do I just change the permissions to 777?
