Cron job required to run at hosting?

Aysha Paten Posted in General Discussion 8 years ago

Hello there.
I am fairly new to setup a website and all its aspects. The good thing is, I am learning.
Please inform if a cron job is meant to be set up?
If yes, then please provide with the command line including wget so that emails are ignored.

Thanks again for a great software.

Without verification user is unable to surf, make sure you are not using any other component like user auto validation.

Thanks for your reply.
Actually, earlier, I went to install oxwall.
There I had to turn on the cron jobs so that the users who register can get verification emails in their inboxes.

About ignoring emails; it is actually a specific command line. if the admin does not want an email every minute or so to confirm if the cron job was successful.

Why I asked about the cron job, is because it took 2+ minutes to send a validation email to a newly registering member.

One more thing; without clicking on a verification email, the user was able to login and surf.
What happened here?

There is no cron jobs by default for OSSN, but what do you mean by emails are ignored ?

You mean your signup emails didn't sent to users?
