I looked in ossn.default.css and found the loading gif and stuff (I would think) but when I change the code in there nothing seems to be changing so I assume whatever I edited wasn't the loading screen.

After looking deep into the files I got the loading screen to change color but I don't know how to change the loading icon to maybe a custom GIF of choice.
I am looking under /htdocs/social/themes/THEMENAME/plugins/default/css/core/default.php
I found "Loading Icon" but it says its source is https://github.com/jlong/css-spinners

Most likely you didn't disable Ossn cache before making your change(s).
Before changing any code or a theme please disable Ossn cache. In some cases it's necessary to clear the browser's cache, too.
