when loading my site on a mobile device none of the sponsored ads appear due to the right side bar being setup for sponsored ads. is there any way to move these to the newsfeed area? I am using version 4.4

You need to edit the theme and see the newsfeed page layout , the thing you can do is to move the ads on top of wall posts https://github.com/opensource-socialnetwork/opensource-socialnetwork/blob/v5.x/themes/goblue/plugins/default/theme/page/layout/newsfeed.php#L29-L35
