I'm no S3 or OSSN expert, but could Amazon's S3 (or something that is API compatible) be used to store whatever media users upload? Rather than store the files on the same disk/ location as OSSN?
But anyway to achieve this? Seems handy for large projects.
Files need to be on same server. If the speed of both servers are different this will largely impact your social network.
However you can store database on different server.
