Has anyone created the functionality to be able to share OSSN posts externally? For example to Facebook? The format of the link to share to FB would be something like https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A//junxur.com/post/view/83

@Jake Nicholson ... Old thread, but since your comment is today... you can now use the new component by ~Z~ man to do this. "Content Sharing". It will create a "share link" option right next to share in your newsfeed posts, blogs, etc. When the link is posted to any other site like facebook (I have used it on several different sites) it will create a post with proper preview and usable media (View photo, read attached content, view video, read blog, etc). When clicked on on facebook (or other site) it brings up the post from your site and also has a "Get involved, join us at -your site name-" button on the bottom of the post that links to your homepage. I modified the html in the component itself to make that action button appear on both the bottom -and- top of the post, and also added a play store link to my app. It is VERY nice! No more generic icon preview, and it is useful to get people to your site.

regards,

Phil

Bob is partially correct, however the link that is shared (copy and paste) creates generic previews. When sharing your profile on a OSSN site, the generated preview is simply just an icon from your site, and a generic description. The idea for an actual sharer would be fantastic.

Any public link can be shared on Facebook, you just copy the URL from the navigation bar.
