In order to monetize OSSN usage, among other things, it would be nice to sell features provided by components. Users would be assigned to Roles that they pay for. Payment would be collected via a payment gateway like PayPal. MeWe currently does this, which enables them to monetize their site. All users would be able to access basic core modules for free but the admin can create roles and link them with components where they want to charge for usage.

I agree
Due to the many requests in the past for additonal features and components we have decided to develope a premium version. Features like Hashtags, Videos, Polls, Events, Stories, Link Preview, etc included in it.
