Would it be wise to add a microphone so people can click it and speak the text of the post. Some people have problems typing due to handicaps or other issues.

Ok, that's a much more comfortable way, of course.
(I understood your initial idea was recording some speech and making it appear in the posts/comments input field automatically...)

I have added a chat room to my site that allows chat, voice and video, your location on a map and more. It is integrated so members just pick or add a avatar it remembers and enter.

Hmm ... I won't want to decide whether it is 'wise' or not ... :)
my first thought was: How (reliable) would something like that work at all?
So I gave it a try and developed a little component just for testing ...
