i would like to keep the option to put your mobile number in the signup, and the mobile login. However, I would like to make it an optional field, and cannot find where to do that.

I suspect you are referring to this premium component.

And as far as I know, the entire logic is based on the field not being allowed to be empty. Hence, if this option is activated, the input IS mandatory.

Locate the mobile number field in your registration form.
Usually, it’s labeled as “Mobile Number” or “Phone Number.”
Change the field’s configuration to make it optional (not required).
