If using OSSN:
OSSN version: 8.1

Hi

I'm looking for a way to generate invite codes per authorized member.
Fir instance: moderators or other special members can generate a one time use code to enter the social network.

Thx for the answer Arsalan.

Any idea who can develop this for me? Any database of good Dev's?
Thx

Please stop this chatgpt. What you want is you need to hire a developer.

Even with custom fields how you will bypass the fields? You need to hire a developer that to customize your stuff no one can do it for you with simple answers as its requires modification.

Let suppose you use singup fields then you need more changes that validate your stuff and bypass those fields with the code.

No idea what it has to do with me.

Maybe your developer could design a new signup page with a link you share with people you know so they don't need to answer those questions again you need to hire a developer

@Daniel: Last messages are about who's who? I don't understand who's behind OSSN and who's behind OpenTeknik and who is Arsalan in all this organization (and ChatGPT tells me that "Arsalan Shah is the lead developer of OSSN and a key member of the OpenTeknik team"). In the meantime, Arsalan told me (here: https://www.opensource-socialnetwork.org/discussion/view/7550/restrict-component-to-non-admin ) .
While english is not my mother language, maybe I missed something, but here I am ;-)

In a second time, I'm building a network for freemansons whom are prople wanting to stay discrete (in Anglo Saxon countries, there is no issue of being freemason, but in Europe, people make problems with everything).
In this context, there are 2 type of potential users for this network: people I know being freemason, and people I'm not sure they are.
For people who I do NOT know they are freemason, they must complete a full questionary with authentication answers proving they are member of the brotherhood and gain access approved.
For people who I KNOW THEY ARE freemasons, I want to bypass this authentication. They can be considered as being a VIP, outside the context of my OSSN.

That's the point ;-)

Franck

PS: I present all my apologies to people I'm spamming, annoying or making upset about all my questions. Building a social network isn't easy, we all know. And my best knowledge is about how to set up a Wordpress site... which is "level easy" compared to OSSN.

I don't know whats going on here. What is this all for?

Okay, so let me explain my thinking:
You wrote: "... If any person want to join, he will have to answer a lot of questions "
Somewhere else you wrote: "If we all had dev skills like yours, we wouldn't buy ossn but dev our own."

And that's why I assume you did not implement all these questions by yourself but by means of the custom field component.

And since this component has been developed by openteknik and your extra invitation logic would interfere with the logic of that custom field component, my idea was to contact the same company you bought custom fields from.

Just guessing, of course... If you're not using custom fields - YOU are the one to know best who did the custom work and whom to contact in order to adapt your requested features..

Thx for the reply Michael.

OSSN is not OpenTeknik?
I don't understand who's who!
Arsalan... OSSN or OpenTeknik?

German Michael Zülsdorff Replied 10 months ago

Understood.
So I'd suggest to ask openteknik to develop a component that
would email an individual link to a special registration page
which has to temporarely remove all extra fields you defined by means of your custom fields component
and bypass all accompanying extra requirement checking

Michael,
We have a very closed and secure network for freemasons.
If any person want to join, he will have to answer a lot of questions and get approved manually by me.
But
If I know personally the person or if the person is a famous person, I don't want to force the person to fill in +10 questions and go through multiple checks.

So yes: if There is an exception, the person must be able to bypass the process thanks to a dedicated code. Otherwise, he will have to perform the full checks. 😘

The component mentioned by Arsalan is named
Registration By Invitation Only
You wrote you want Registration By Invitation Only and Also By Invitation ?!?
That's like allowing to pass a junction only in case of a green signal, but also in case of red

If we all had dev skills like yours, we wouldn't buy ossn but dev our own.

Love ossn 😃
