Want to create an override theme for the default GoBlue 8.1 theme

If using OSSN:
OSSN version: 8.9
Website URL (optional):

If facing any bug:
PHP Version : 8.2
Error Log if any:
Browser: Chrome Version 142.0.7444.176 (Official Build) (64-bit)
OS (Window/Linux/Android/iOS/Mac): Windows 11

Want to create an override/child theme for the GoBlue 8.1 theme but having a tough time finding documentation on how to do it. Only docs I can find are these: https://www.opensource-socialnetwork.org/wiki/view/3269/component-and-theme-style-guide and https://www.opensource-socialnetwork.org/wiki/view/1063/how-to-develop-a-new-theme

I would like to avoid having the complete GoBlue 8.1 theme as my renamed theme if possible and just have some basics like footer.php, css, ossn_theme.xml, ossn_theme.php etc so when the parent theme is updated I don't have to worry about updating my new override/child theme also. Is this doable on this platform?

Thanks for your time.

Just decided to duplicate the goblue theme and rename it for now to learn the platform.

Michael, thanks for the link to the goblue-registration-page component. Actually already found it during my reading but because it was a component and not a theme I didn't read it thoroughly. Will go back and see if anything triggers some ideas.

As for the second link I've pretty much read through everything on that page concerning themes and nothing stood out for what I want to do.

I'll keep looking, thanks for the reply.
