SMTP Issues - Site is not sending any email messages

Hello all,
For the past few days I have been trying to get email notifications to work as for some unknown reason the site does not send any emails.
php mail() is disabled by the host, which is why I turned to the SMTP component.
I have tried numerous SMTP Services (smtp2go and some others) and also the one used by the hosting email service, but to no avail.
Within the component "SMTP Notifications" I do get the message "SMTP Connection successfully established",
Any support or guidance would be very much appreciated.

Emails for comments, likes will only arrives if you are using Email Notification component. Try to install component after SMTP and see if it works?

That website (gmass) worked fine with the original SMTP details I had tried via the Hosting provider. Thank you.
I gave it another go and now the password reset and account validation email does work on my site, just not the notifications when someone writes in a group, posts on a wall or comments.

I have tried the reset password and also created a new account but both do not send/receive any emails.
What happnes when you reset password? when SMTP enabled
