Change First Name/Last Name to a general display name.

So i'm not a fan of having it be a "First Name/Last Name" system and I was wondering if there was a way to replace it with a display name, as in it's simply just 1 name and it can have spaces within it.

I'm not asking to display the Username instead of the First Name/ Last Name, I simply want to replace the First Name/ Last Name with one single name.

Wow..being new to this can you explain where to find user register action and a little more detail would help?

You need to do following :

Create new component.
Copy the user register action and move to your component (edit the action) and adjust the first name and last name variables accordingly.
Override the registration form to remove the last name field.
