I installed OSSN into a socket container but I'm getting the mod_rewrite error. I don't have an htaccess file so I presume this is the problem. Is there a default or recommended htpassword file I should use?

Independant from any installing environment:
Ossn needs no htaccess file (it will be created at the end of the installation process)
and Ossn needs no htpassword file.
The mod_rewrite error is indicating you're either missing the php cURL extension or/and you didn't configure apache correctly.
