Search is not working properly (Bio)

Alexandre Barbosa Posted in General Discussion 3 years ago

The contents of the Bio are not showing up when we use search. It only appears when we use the oldest version of Bio (3.7). When we use the most recent ones, nothing appears when we click on Bio.
I take this opportunity to talk a little more about search. I loved when the component "Search posts" worked to users.
In my opinion, "search" is one of the most attractive and important things.

Great job Eric! I want to know more about this. This is very important to me. And I want to know where to find the component when it’s ready. Searching using Bio and using Search Posts. Both are important to me and to everyone.

What do you mean by

Avoids errors from outdated ossn_annotation tables? Eric i guess you need to start new thread or topic as this is about Bio

I’ve been working on a completely upgraded search system for the platform, so here’s a clear explanation of what’s happening and what our setup already improves.

Indeed new and old version gives some weird search results.(for me)
So keep up to date. That is prio

Finding timeline posts from users was one of the biggest requests from our community.
The original OSSN search could not do this reliably, and that caused a lot of frustration.
The new SearchEnhanced system i made finally makes it possible to search user-generated posts properly.

✔ Finds timeline posts, including user posts and group posts
✔ Highlights the searched keywords
✔ Shows clean, clickable results instead of raw output
✔ Supports multiple content types (blogs, groups, forum topics, etc.)
✔ Works even when components use different storage formats
✔ Avoids errors from outdated ossn_annotation tables

The goal is a platform-wide search engine that helps users discover everything easily.

I don't have the OSSN newer version yet. I have 8.1. I made a video to show you how it is working. https://youtu.be/AHA5B4xojNw

Running Ossn 8.9 and Bio 7.1

I got a 'normal' member named Botox with a PUBLIC Bio containing 'felt addicted'

Image

got another 'normal' member named Honey (no friend of Botox) searching for 'felt addicted'
and the search returned the correct result.

If Botox changes her bios visibility to "Friends Only" then Honey gets no result because she's indeed no friend of her.

Thus, I see no issues with Bio searching and normal members.

I have no idea what this screenshot is supposed to tell us.
I don't see a search term – and obviously, there can't be any results.
