This component adds an additional profile subpage named About showing some basic member information like gender, age, etc. retrieved from the member's account data.

The accessibility of the About page depends on the mode which was chosen on the account settings page. The three available options are public (visible for everyone), friends only, or nobody (except of the account owner and administrators).

Note: About User can NOT be used in parallel with the Custom Profile Fields component. Whenever Custom Profile Fields gets enabled, About User will be disabled automatically.

Hmm ... I don't recall that we have a component to store a member's location in their profile data, do we?

hey!
Would it make sense to add location to the component?
OSSNLocation has Mapbox integration so maybe we could use that?

Fixed with 7.2
Thanks for reporting, Dominik.

The component is causing an "issue"
When activated, there is an "BLA" on the profile page, but only on mobile devices

Yes, as you pointed out aboutuser gets disabled automatically in case the Custom User Fields component is enabled, because the latter one offers not only the same features but even more and is individually customizable.
So I'm sure this was the true reason for not showing up in your case.
As for the bio component I don't see no real 'overlapping' because it initializes totally blank by default and it's up to the individual member to fill in any thing of interest or not.

Sorry Sir.
I thought it was automatically disabled because of this release 4.1 comment
"automatic disabling of About User component if Custom User Fields component is enabled".
Also I use "bio" module, so that could also be overlapping with the "aboutuser" functionality. So kinds of not using this module. Sorry, I apologize.

Willi and Balamurali,
I'm tired of seeing these kind of 'it doesn't work' reports without any further details.
You can be sure that no developer would upload a completely untested component here which would fail in a standard environment. So if it does - as in your case - there must be a reason. But we can't find the reason if you're not willing to provide any information about your sites.
Hence, please stop further postings like that if you're basically unwilling to cooperate.
