Arabic translation showing question marks
Hello dear OSSN community members,
I am currently working on an arabic translation but when testing it on my OSSN based website, after uploading and activating it, it's showing question marks instead of arabic letters.
For example the word الأصدقاء which means "friends" shows ��������
The translated file for this is ossn/locale/ossn.ar.php
Please any advise or help?
I think this issue is most likely related to character encoding rather than the Arabic translation itself. I would first check that the ossn.ar.php file is saved as UTF-8 without BOM and that the website/database is also configured to support UTF-8. I hope you can get the Arabic characters displaying correctly soon. By the way, I also enjoy discovering games like Veck IO when I have some free time.
Make sure to save your translation in UTF-8 w/o BOM.
