when the user logs in, I want the page to redirect him/her to another page, can I ? and how? I tried by changing redirect(home) but it redirect me to a url that looks like this localhost/ossn/ossn/user/action/anotherpage/index.php and it said 404 error.

Make yourself familiar with the concept of Ossn first: Never change any core files - add new functionality by means of a component instead.
