My installation is the social component of a larger website, and I'd like to add a link to the larger site (preferably in the left menu). Is there a way to do that?

Install the MenuBuilder component.
It allows to add new entries to existing menus.
Due to the many requests in the past for additonal features and components we have decided to develope a premium version. Features like Hashtags, Videos, Polls, Events, Stories, Link Preview, etc included in it.
