  • separate 'My Groups' page instead of numerous entries in the sidebar menu
  • separate section keeping your personal stuff
  • floating widgets allowing usage of full screen width on large displays

Backup / Restore

Starting with release V 2.3, GreenByGreen comes with a backup/restore mechanism that takes care of keeping your modifications.
Whenever you disable GreenByGreen (= switch to a different theme) the following files will be saved to your Ossn data directory:

  • favicon.ico
  • logo.png (your site's frontend logo)
  • logo_admin.jpg (your admin backend logo)
  • frontpage.css
  • light_mode.css
  • dark_mode.css
  • as well as the 3 accompanying pdf files listing your currently chosen colors
  • site_custom_css.php (holding your custom css changes and additions)

Whenever you enable GreenByGreen these files will be restored to the theme directory, making your site instantly look the same again without any further manual interaction.

Before manually applying any CSS changes to GreenByGreen, make friends with the comfortable admin backend and asure they can't be applied there in a much more easier way.
Manual CSS changes and additions must be saved in site_custom_css.php, only. Don't touch any of the other files since they are being modified and managed programmatically.

He John,
thanks for your feedback and trying GreenByGreen.
The 'issues' you mentioned are Ossn standard: The Profile Photos and Cover Photos folders are special - they have no own upload option. These pictures have to be loaded directly from the member's profile page. Instructions are available on

In order to achieve a complete mobile workflow, please follow these steps:

  1. From your Ossn admin backend change back to Goblue temporarely
  2. Delete GreenByGreen 1.27
  3. Install and enable the TouchScreen CoverImage Dragging component from the link I mentioned above
  4. Install and enable GreenByGreen 1.28
  5. Visit your profile page and give it a try

Theme looks awesome, chat works on Android without issue.
The cover photo album doesn't seem to be writable, and I can't find the folder to check.
Example: created new folder and buttons appear to add photos to album.
Profile cover album has no way to add photos.
Also, I do not see a way to assign cover photo.
Am I missing something??

Hi James,
I hope you will understand that my motivation giving detailed help on how to change my theme is a little limited.
Hence, I would recommend to read the advices in
inspect the section of interest, find the element and change it.

Hey @~Z~Man - I cant use your theme because the component "Anonymous Registration" is not working. It does work fine when I switch to another theme. Any idea what might be wrong?

German Michael Zülsdorff Replied 2 years ago

Yup, fixed with 1.23 now.
And thanks for reporting!
