Backup / Restore
Starting with release V 2.3, GreenByGreen comes with a backup/restore mechanism that takes care of keeping your modifications.
Whenever you disable GreenByGreen (= switch to a different theme) the following files will be saved to your Ossn data directory:
favicon.ico
logo.png
(your site's frontend logo)logo_admin.jpg
(your admin backend logo)frontpage.css
light_mode.css
dark_mode.css
pdf files
listing your currently chosen colorssite_custom_css.php
(holding your custom css changes and additions)Whenever you enable GreenByGreen these files will be restored to the theme directory, making your site instantly look the same again without any further manual interaction.
Customizing
Before manually applying any CSS changes to GreenByGreen, make friends with the comfortable admin backend and asure they can't be applied there in a much more easier way.
Manual CSS changes and additions must be saved in site_custom_css.php
, only. Don't touch any of the other files since they are being modified and managed programmatically.
First, this is still the best ossn theme by far.
Since you asked for feedback concerning the newsfeed link, I will agree that it is redundant, the home icon is fairly self explanatory.
Really like the "my groups" and games being under their perspective tabs, how hard would it be to add a "My pages" tab?
Thanks Z, Awesome work.
I understand
No, Christian.
No way. I'm open to any smart suggestion that would enhance the usability of GreenByGreen, but when it comes to pure styling I'm deaf on both ears. :)
Actually, I used square images on purpose because it appears idiotic to me to reduce the visibility of those images which ARE already quite small.
Feel free to simply replace my css and create your own custom derivate.
Suggestion image profile
It seems to me that if all the profile pictures (personal, friends, last members, etc ...) were in a circle, the look would be more attractive, more current ...
The possibility of choosing between round and square, for the theme, would be the best.
Thanks, Christian.
You're right: I forgot using ossnprint() in greenlogin.php.
You can send translations to [email protected]
Thanks Z-Man.
I also modified 2 files - "green_login.php" so that Login is written according to the chosen language, and I translated in FR "ossn.fr.php".
How can I send them to you?
You HAVE upgrade GreenByGreen to V 1.32 and you HAVE checked that new option in Themes->GreenByGreen Settings on your admin backend?
I understand. Thank you for your answer.
I added a link, but if I asked you, it was because I wanted to display the "News feed" icon which is not in the proposed list
Honestly, I'm not a friend of having redundant links,
but okay, I added an option now to make that extra New Feed link available in the main menu.
I'd appreciate some feedback from other GreenByGreen users whether they would use this option or not.
Hi Z Man,
The newfeed is reachable any time by clicking either the topbar's
sitename (on larger displays) or the home icon (on small screens)
I have seen this but I think it is not necessarily obvious to all users. Is there a solution to also integrate this link in the links menu?
