Backup / Restore
Starting with release V 2.3, GreenByGreen comes with a backup/restore mechanism that takes care of keeping your modifications.
Whenever you disable GreenByGreen (= switch to a different theme) the following files will be saved to your Ossn data directory:
favicon.ico
logo.png
(your site's frontend logo)logo_admin.jpg
(your admin backend logo)frontpage.css
light_mode.css
dark_mode.css
pdf files
listing your currently chosen colorssite_custom_css.php
(holding your custom css changes and additions)Whenever you enable GreenByGreen these files will be restored to the theme directory, making your site instantly look the same again without any further manual interaction.
Customizing
Before manually applying any CSS changes to GreenByGreen, make friends with the comfortable admin backend and asure they can't be applied there in a much more easier way.
Manual CSS changes and additions must be saved in site_custom_css.php
, only. Don't touch any of the other files since they are being modified and managed programmatically.
Hello, I have an error in the function of repositioning the profile cover!
Yeah, actually it's not a big deal, but I doubt it's worth it.
I gave it a try today and made that button available on Android.
And all it did was asking me to install the native Android Hangout app.
So, if I have that app and can run from my homescreen - why should I want to start it from inside of Ossn?
;)
Thanks Z Man.
It sounds like it could be an easy fix on the component to move the button to center, if my program languages were more updated (I worked in trs and ms dos, basic and some cgi)
Do you know if any component updates are forthcoming or even a programmer who could alter the component for a reasonable fee??
Thank you for your feedback, John.
The simple reason for the issue you found:
The Hangout component is using the right column for the necessary "start hangout" button code. And the right column is not available on small devices throughout all themes. That's all.
One solution I can think of is creating an extra page for that button, and make that page addressable from the main menu. But I would prefer waiting for a component fix from Softlab before developing a custom GreenByGreen fix.
First I will say that after trying each of the available themes, this is hands down the best, and it would seem, the best supported.
I think everything is working (that I have tried to date) with the exception of the hangouts mod, which I cannot get to work on Any theme, so it may be an issue with the mobile platform or Am I missing a config option by chance??
Thanks again,,,,,
John.
Rex,
The Reset Password function is available on https://yoursite.com/login
And you are redirected automatically to that page after an unsuccessful login attempt.
So what's your problem?
The idea of GreenByGreen is keeping things simple. And you don't need a Password Reset as long as you KNOW your password. Aside from that you may change your password any time from the Account settings page after a successful login.
There is no new update for this? Please add reset password.
Nice one ~Z~ Man! Thank you for this!
Profile and Group cover image sizes are handled in the core part of Ossn - they are not part of my theme.
If you have any questions or issues please open a new thread on the main community page.
Thanks again, cover photo accomplished.
It seems to be a little particular about the image size, where would I look for the config file?
